Gonçalo Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Seco having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Havre's zone, Eliseu Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Seco came out of the goal and Eliseu Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luizinho Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubens Proença's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Rubens Proença sped through Havre's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luizinho Seco. Jefferson Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Pedrão Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kléberson Campidelis was the one to do the kick off. Gonçalo Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Rubens Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luizinho Seco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luizinho Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Proença in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Simões in the 88th minute of play forced Havre's goalkeeper Luizinho Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Kléberson Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Havre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kléberson Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luciano Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
