Pedrão Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Alberto da Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Havre's protests and gave Alberto da Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. Alberto da Rocha hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 17 minutes, Kléberson Campidelis made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. São Paulo JA's Artur Palmeira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olavo Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. If Olavo Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute Yuri Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Havre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. Luizinho Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Donato Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. São Paulo JA had won after a very even match.
