The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Natanael Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Araújo having to interfere. The supporters of bahia booed when Virasoro fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Virasoro fc got a freekick which was hit by Enio de Castro. In the 15th minute, Edgard Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Renato Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Natanael Matos put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Angelo Araújo. In the 29th minute, Rui Melo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Angelo Araújo. The goal made the score 2-0. Angelo Araújo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 36th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Virasoro fc! The goalkeeper, Angelo Araújo, was totally fooled by bahia's Roberto Pirani, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Virasoro fc's Edgard Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Melo was the one to do the kick off. Rui Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Angelo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natanael Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natanael Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natanael Matos in the 62nd minute of the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Natanael Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. bahia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natanael Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelo Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willian Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Willian Gerber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. bahia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virasoro fc the free kick. Edgard Brodel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Renato Azevedo made a huge save. Natanael Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Araújo having to interfere. If Rui Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
