Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zé Paulo Urbano started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Fructal AD's zone, Bruninho Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gino Lopez came out of the goal and Bruninho Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 9 played minutes, Gentio's Gernando Cavalcante shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gino Lopez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gentio reached it. When the match had been going on for 12 minutes, Gentio's Guilherme Aparecido got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gino Lopez. Gernando Cavalcante hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Chiquinho Lima hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Bruninho Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Gino Lopez made a huge save. In the 25th minute, Gustavo Penha made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldão Hoffmann. Gentio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Gentio's Ronaldão Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Perez in the 28th minute of play. Ronaldão Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When Guto Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fructal AD's protests and gave Guto Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Fructal AD got a freekick which was hit by Guto Schmidt. Gino Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Urbano in the 40th minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Serafim Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fructal AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafim Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafim Pereira to make the kick off. After 66 played minutes Fructal AD got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Prado. In the 67th minute of the match Guilherme Aparecido sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gino Lopez skillfully saved the ball. Gino Lopez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Paulo Urbano's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. If Zé Paulo Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gino Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruninho Fonseca in the 72nd minute of the match. Fructal AD's Bernardinho da Rocha was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 76th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Fructal AD booed when Gentio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zé Paulo Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Gentio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Urbano couldn't finish the play.
