The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Guilherme Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Amílton Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umberto Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Carlos Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfredo Velasco in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Esteves saved Florencio FC from getting behind. In the 37th minute Manfredo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílton Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Elder Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Manuel Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Magalhães to make the kick off. Emanuel Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Carlos Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Enchente. 61 minutes into the match, Florencio FC's goalkeeper Carlos Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manfredo Velasco. Manfredo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Esteves having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Enchente's Emanuel Magalhães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Florencio FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 83rd match minute, Florencio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. Elder Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Passos having to interfere. The Enchente supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Enchente would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
