The Coaticaba SC fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Coaticaba SC's Nildo Maia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Serra's Alan Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 12 minutes of play, Coaticaba SC's Reginaldo Trigo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dé Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 15 played minutes, Coaticaba SC's Amauri Branco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dé Araújo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coaticaba SC reached it. Alan Vieira took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Carvalho. Edgar Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 20 minutes into the match, Serra's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Maia came free, but Dé Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Filipe de Queiroz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nico Rezende charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Rezende the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Coaticaba SC were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Serra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dalmo Pernambucano took the corner. Coaticaba SC's Dalmo Pernambucano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dé Araújo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Serra getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Zé Bezerra hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Luiz Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nildo Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dé Araújo was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After 35 played minutes Serra got a freekick which was hit by Luís Prestes. Dé Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Maia in the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Coaticaba SC's zone, Alan Vieira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Carvalho came out of the goal and Alan Vieira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aílton Corrêa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Alan Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serra's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Reginaldo Trigo scored to the left of an out of position Dé Araújo, making the score, 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Reginaldo Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Dé Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Dé Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Trigo in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Reginaldo Trigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dé Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Nildo Maia struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Dé Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coaticaba SC. Luiz Macedo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes, Coaticaba SC's Dalmo Pernambucano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dé Araújo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
