Alessandro Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xixebal's Sydney de Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Faustão Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Antunes having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Xixebal's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rui Neves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Renan Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xixebal's protests and gave Renan Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. Renan Madureira hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The long shot by Matías Mendes in the 28th minute really tested Joélson Antunes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sydney de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. In the 69th minute, one of Xixebal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Xixebal. In the 74th minute Rui Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Xixebal's Doni Paranaense broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Joélson Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustão Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Sururua's Rui Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joélson Antunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Joélson Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Faustão Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney de Lara in the 100th minute of play forced Sururua's goalkeeper Alessandro Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
