Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Corneliu Turbatu started the match with the kick off. After 2 minutes, Betinho Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piranguinho and the Paranavai players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Betinho Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Corneliu Turbatu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Arósio having to make a save. Corneliu Turbatu might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Corneliu Turbatu ran back to his position shaking his head. Aloísio Arósio was a little too slow when Wellington Veloso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. Sebastião Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Bernardinho Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paranavai. Bernardinho Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Arnaldo Barreto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aloísio Arósio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The supporters of Piranguinho booed when Paranavai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, one of Paranavai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paranavai. 29 minutes into the game, Piranguinho's Corneliu Turbatu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aloísio Arósio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Zanette in the 32nd minute of play forced Piranguinho's goalkeeper Bernardinho Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Betinho Jacinto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aloísio Arósio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Wellington Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

In the 56thth minute of the game Corneliu Turbatu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paranavai's Aloísio Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wellington Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aloísio Arósio having to interfere. Paranavai's Aloísio Arósio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Freddie Jonasson's late challenge caught a Paranavai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Freddie Jonasson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th minute, Cristóvão Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Piranguinho had played much better football throughout.
