The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Bernardinho Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Leite in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Gino Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernardinho Donato made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão Figueiredo in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gino Leite to strike the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredão Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Quixoba's Alfredão Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Veloso in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Quixoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Gino Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredão Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egídio Mineiro lost his temper 76 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Quixoba:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Piranguinho:s goal. With his leg Alfredão Barros managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Piranguinho's Corneliu Turbatu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Piranguinho had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
