Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jarbas Simão kicked off to start the match. After 3 played minutes Maracajatuba got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Simão. After 4 played minutes, Deserto SS's Erik Barros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Carioca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deserto SS reached it. The supporters of Deserto SS booed when Maracajatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adalberto Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcinho Marquez in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Marcinho Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deserto SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcinho Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Jerônimo Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16thth minute of the game Adalberto Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracajatuba's Pedro Carioca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Maracajatuba's zone, Marcinho Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Carioca came out of the goal and Marcinho Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the match, Adalberto Mello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Carioca. Maracajatuba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adalberto Mello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Raí de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Jarbas Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maracajatuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarbas Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes, Ulisses Cosme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deserto SS and the Maracajatuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ulisses Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When Deserto SS's Marcinho Marquez in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maracajatuba's goalie prevented a goal. After 36 played minutes Maracajatuba got a freekick which was hit by Marco Couto. When Erik Barros came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Deserto SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Barros couldn't finish the play. Ivo Siqueira's late challenge caught a Deserto SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivo Siqueira helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maracajatuba! Jarbas Simão struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Raí de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maracajatuba. The Maracajatuba players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deserto SS were winning 0-2.
When Marcinho Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Deserto SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Marquez couldn't finish the play. When Orlando Teixeira fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deserto SS's protests and gave Orlando Teixeira a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Deserto SS's Orlando Teixeira got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 61 played minutes Deserto SS got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Cosme. If Álvaro Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maracajatuba's Pedro Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Mello in the 68th minute of play. Orlando Teixeira was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 73rd match minute, Deserto SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Carioca was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Marcinho Marquez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcinho Marquez really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Marcinho Marquez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Carioca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Marcinho Marquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deserto SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adalberto Linares in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Carioca saved Maracajatuba from getting behind. Marcinho Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Pedro Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Deserto SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deserto SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
