Marcinho Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Tales Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tales Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Mello in the 12th minute of play. If Marcinho Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho Marquez struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Tales Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deserto SS. After a rather tough play, Inhaumense FC's João Adolfo Tande got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 23rd minute, Luís Fernando Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Célio Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inhaumense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Célio Linares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raí de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fernando Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Orlando Teixeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deserto SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inhaumense FC the free kick. A collision led to Deserto SS getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Orlando Teixeira hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Simão Gaúcho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Deserto SS's Raí de Brito didn't even have to move. Marcinho Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tales Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Mello in the 44th minute of play forced Inhaumense FC's goalkeeper Tales Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Célio Linares made a kick off. The supporters of Inhaumense FC booed when Deserto SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Hélio Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adalberto Mello in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tales Donato saved Inhaumense FC from getting behind. Tales Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Inhaumense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Mello came free, but Tales Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
