An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Tavares in the 47th minute of play forced Pinheiros F.C.'s goalkeeper Afonsinho França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Paripe SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pinheiros F.C. were winning 0-1.

Pinheiros F.C.'s Afonsinho França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Toscano in the 51st minute of play. Bruninho Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho França having to interfere. In the 54th minute Jean Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Paraibano's late challenge caught a Pinheiros F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sílvio Paraibano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Paripe SC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Sílvio Paraibano hit a great ball.
