Kiko Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Giuseppe Pirani came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Algodoal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe Pirani couldn't finish the play. Giuseppe Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Alessandro Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Algodoal FC booed when Poli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Poli FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Válbson Queiroz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Pirani in the 27th minute of play forced Poli FC's goalkeeper Alessandro Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Richard de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 33 minutes, Yuri Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Algodoal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Poli FC's zone, Yuri Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Monteiro came out of the goal and Yuri Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Válbson Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cauan Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alessandro Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giuseppe Pirani went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Válbson Queiroz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Barral scored 1-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cauan Massa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Queiroz in the 61st minute of play forced Algodoal FC's goalkeeper Cauan Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 played minutes Algodoal FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton de Senna. After a rather tough play, Poli FC's Geovânio Tavares got a free kick in the 64th minute. Cauan Massa came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Poli FC's Válbson Queiroz. But to his dismay, Válbson Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Alessandro Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Rodrigo Barral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Saldanha in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alessandro Monteiro saved Poli FC from getting behind. After 88 played minutes Poli FC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Pontes. If Giuseppe Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauan Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Queiroz in the 93rd minute of the match. Poli FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
