A collision led to Real Cruz getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Hamílton Koehler hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Real Cruz's Adalberto Veiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Danilo Eger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Albertinho Lago hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Jonas Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hamílton Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Cruz's protests and gave Hamílton Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Itapoama FC booed when Real Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamílton Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adalberto Veiga to make the kick off. Tiago Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Armandinho Jacinto walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Oscar Melo made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Dieguinho Leme sent off a good shot on target. Dieguinho Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Melo having to interfere. Humberto Nogueira hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When Jonas Abreu got free in front of the goal in the 79th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Oscar Melo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Dito Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Cruz's Dito Rossi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pedro Augusto Matorin, made in the 85th minute of the game. Real Cruz's attentive Elder Barral managed to snatch the ball when Paulinho Mangueira made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. Real Cruz's Dito Rossi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pedro Augusto Matorin in the 95 minute of the game. Eriberto Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Eger having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Real Cruz players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
