Varnhagen EC's Ronaldo Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Mangueira in the 4th minute of play. Ronaldo Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Botelho's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Horácio Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ronaldo Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Mangueira in the 11th minute of play forced Varnhagen EC's goalkeeper Ronaldo Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Charles Fernandez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Varnhagen EC defense, Horácio Mangueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldo Costa. The Varnhagen EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldo Costa should have stopped the shot. If Evandro Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Horácio Mangueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Costa was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Zilles during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Alexandre Zilles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Pedrinho Marquez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jeferson Peres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Pedrinho Marquez made a huge save. In the 27th minute André Luís de Andrade suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Rafinha Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varnhagen EC's protests and gave Rafinha Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Varnhagen EC got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Fernandez. If Evandro Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeferson Peres got free with Pedrinho Marquez in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Varnhagen EC's zone, Charles Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Costa came out of the goal and Charles Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronaldo Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Botelho in the 35th minute of the match. Armando Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Serinhaem's Evandro Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Orlando Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varnhagen EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charles Fernandez hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Evandro Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Gonçalves to make the kick off. Pedrinho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute Jeferson Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedrinho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Gonçalves in the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Serinhaem's Ezequiel Sena got a free kick in the 61st minute. Pedrinho Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Costa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evandro Botelho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 70 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Gonçalves in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho Marquez saved Serinhaem from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Jeferson Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varnhagen EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeferson Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the game, Varnhagen EC's Orlando Gonçalves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedrinho Marquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Orlando Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Marquez having to interfere. In the 96thth minute of the game Orlando Gonçalves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Serinhaem's Pedrinho Marquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Serinhaem walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
