Super Campeões's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo Barral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luís Gustavo Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Alfredo Alagoano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Super Campeões's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barra EC the free kick. Alfredo Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Juvenal Pitta notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Super Campeões's Guga Novaes. Guga Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Juvenal Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Super Campeões's zone, Hélder Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Novaes came out of the goal and Hélder Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hélder Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinho Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélder Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Novaes having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Gustavo Barral to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Super Campeões's Luís Gustavo Barral got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael de Queiroz got free with Claudinho Gomes in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the match, Juvenal Pitta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guga Novaes. Super Campeões's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juvenal Pitta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Guga Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Pitta in the 64th minute of the match. Hélder Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Novaes having to interfere. When Juvenal Pitta came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Barra EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Pitta couldn't finish the play. If Hélder Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The corner led Barra EC's Gaylord Fucks to fire away a dangerous shot which Guga Novaes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Hélder Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélder Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guga Novaes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute Juvenal Pitta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Super Campeões's zone, Hélder Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Novaes came out of the goal and Hélder Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Gustavo Barral received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Claudinho Gomes came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Gustavo Barral slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 83rd minute. After 85 played minutes Barra EC got a freekick which was hit by Gaylord Fucks. Claudinho Gomes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zézinho Custódio. After a defensive mix-up in Super Campeões's zone, Hélder Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Novaes came out of the goal and Hélder Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
