After 11 minutes, Jeferson Peres made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Super Campeões's Guga Novaes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilson Ribeiro hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute of the match Zé Carlos Quintal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guga Novaes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Guga Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio de Brito in the 18th minute of play. Guga Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Jeferson Peres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guga Novaes having to make a save. Super Campeões's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeferson Peres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 33 played minutes Varnhagen EC got a freekick which was hit by Antônio de Brito. After a rather tough play, Super Campeões's Alfredo Alagoano got a free kick in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Super Campeões's zone, Jeferson Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Novaes came out of the goal and Jeferson Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 40 minutes of play, Varnhagen EC's Orlando Gonçalves made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guga Novaes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Guga Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeferson Peres in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Super Campeões's zone, Jeferson Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Novaes came out of the goal and Jeferson Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
