In the 2nd minute, Alexandre Zilles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Claudinho Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Orlando Gonçalves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Claudinho Gomes, 1-0. Orlando Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Gomes having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Varnhagen EC's Orlando Gonçalves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After having played for 22 minutes, Jeferson Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varnhagen EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeferson Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Orlando Gonçalves reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claudinho Gomes. The goal made the score 3-0. Antônio de Brito's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Claudinho Gomes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Claudinho Gomes made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Jeferson Peres sent off a good shot on target. Orlando Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Gomes having to interfere. Claudinho Gomes came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Varnhagen EC's Jeferson Peres. But to his dismay, Jeferson Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 46th match minute, Varnhagen EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Zilles to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Orlando Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Antônio de Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Claudinho Gomes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rafinha Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Jeferson Peres charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeferson Peres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Varnhagen EC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Barra EC's Claudinho Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Peres in the 62nd minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho Gomes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Peres in the 89th minute of play forced Barra EC's goalkeeper Claudinho Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 minutes, Armando Netto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varnhagen EC and the Barra EC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
