Enrique Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Rossi in the 7th minute of play. Gilberto Nóbrega made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Vítor Loyola in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Morro EC's Giovani Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Nóbrega narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristiano Rossi struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Enrique Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quincas. José Vítor Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quincas's Gilberto Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Tasso in the 22nd minute of play. Renan Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Passos hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Giovani Tasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Nóbrega was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Quincas's zone, Giovani Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Nóbrega came out of the goal and Giovani Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, José Vítor Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro EC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Vítor Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Nóbrega breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Giovani Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renan Pirani was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Vítor Loyola in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Nóbrega saved Quincas from getting behind. Enrique Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristiano Rossi in the 56th minute. If Renan Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Vítor Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Nóbrega having to interfere. A collision led to Quincas getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Sandro Motta hit a great ball. When José Vítor Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Morro EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor Loyola couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute Giovani Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovani Tasso in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Morro EC's Enrique Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Rossi in the 75th minute of play. If José Vítor Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Motta hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Morro EC's Enrique Melo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Morro EC from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, Quincas's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Tasso came free, but Gilberto Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Morro EC's Giovani Tasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilberto Nóbrega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of Quincas booed when Morro EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Morro EC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Rossi came free, but Enrique Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Quincas's zone, José Vítor Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quincas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Morro EC.
