Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Remo Mangueira kicked off to start the match. Remo Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Romero having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Souto. If Remo Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. José de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Bahia's José de Sena got control of the ball when Erasmo Prata tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Erasmo Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erasmo Prata got free with José de Sena in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ismael Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo Mangueira in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Coroata defense, Remo Mangueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Romero. The Coroata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Romero should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute of the match Adrianinho de Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ismael Romero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bahia's José de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maicon Rezende in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute, Maicon Rezende fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After the first half Bahia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maicon Rezende to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Bahia's Durvalino Quintal got a free kick in the 54th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Coroata's Amílton Senna tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Erasmo Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José de Sena having to interfere. José de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maicon Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Coroata's Dorival Batista got a free kick in the 70th minute. Bahia's Daniel Souto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Coroata. Ismael Romero was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Remo Mangueira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Remo Mangueira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Tiaguinho Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th match minute, Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Urbano to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bahia's zone, Maicon Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José de Sena came out of the goal and Maicon Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erasmo Prata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José de Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Coroata's Ismael Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Mangueira in the 85th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Pedrinho Carneiro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dorival Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bahia were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Coroata's much stronger midfield.
