After a defensive mix-up in Korff EC's zone, Orlando Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Mendonça came out of the goal and Orlando Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Herculandia SC booed when Korff EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Paes made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Montenegro during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. If Vicente Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
