Paulão da Silveira hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, Quinin AD's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás do Nascimento came free, but Fellipe Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clóvis Queiroz kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 20thth minute. Though ot was a great shot C. R. Flamengo's keeper Durvalino Barral was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Jaime Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Quinin AD's Luiz Fabiano Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clóvis Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Barral having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Rubens Sampaio took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Durvalino Barral to make any attempt to save it. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
