Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sílvio Mello made the kick off which started today's match. When Castelhano's Sílvio Mello in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C. R. Flamengo's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás do Nascimento during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Tomás do Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celsinho Jacinto in the 19th minute of play forced C. R. Flamengo's goalkeeper Durvalino Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Castelhano's Nelsinho Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão da Silveira in the 21st minute of play. C. R. Tomás do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão da Silveira in the 28th minute of play forced Castelhano's goalkeeper Nelsinho Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durvalino Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Mello in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Celsinho Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castelhano's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durvalino Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sílvio Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, C. R. Flamengo's Paulão da Silveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelsinho Pitta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulão da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Nelsinho Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. R. Flamengo. Durvalino Barral came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Castelhano's Celsinho Jacinto. But to his dismay, Celsinho Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Castelhano's Nelsinho Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás do Nascimento in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of C. R. Flamengo booed when Castelhano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Castelhano's Nelsinho Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão da Silveira in the 67th minute of play. After 71 played minutes, Castelhano's Aírton Tróia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Durvalino Barral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Castelhano reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Castelhano's zone, José Carlos Corrêa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Pitta came out of the goal and José Carlos Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelsinho Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulão da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Nelsinho Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Castelhano's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás do Nascimento came free, but Nelsinho Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulão da Silveira in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelsinho Pitta saved Castelhano from getting behind. If Válter Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Barral having to interfere. The C. R. Flamengo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Castelhano's performance. The match ended with a win for Castelhano.
