Banca's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 21 minutes into the game, João Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.E. Promoon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Banca the free kick. In the 21st minute, João Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Dante in the 25th minute of play forced A.E. Promoon's goalkeeper Ahmed Amri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmed Amri was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Luís Fernando Teixeira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luís Fernando Teixeira really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. In the 29th minute, Arlindo Madureira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Banca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 34 minutes into the game, Júlio Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ahmed Amri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Carlos Fernando dos Santos's late challenge caught a A.E. In the 48th minute Luís Gustavo Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed Amri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 64th minute, Waldemar Batista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th match minute, A.E. Promoon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adhemar Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Breno Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ahmed Amri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, A.E.
