Gremio FC's Natanael Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Rodrigues in the 8th minute of play. Natanael Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Rodrigues in the 11th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Pranchada SC's Glauco de Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natanael Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Pranchada SC booed when Gremio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdir Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Valdir Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Pranchada SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdir Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute Valdir Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdir Rodrigues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Pranchada SC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
