Marquinhos Saldanha was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Victor das Neves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Citizens Blues F.C's zone, Ronaldo Messias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Fontes came out of the goal and Ronaldo Messias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Conrado Trigo's late challenge caught a Citizens Blues F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado Trigo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, Conrado Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Citizens Blues F.C's Victor das Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marquinhos Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sandro de Medeiros hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Délio Loyola took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dedé Fontes. Dedé Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Délio Loyola might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedé Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Délio Loyola ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ronaldo Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dedé Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Messias in the 35th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Messias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedé Fontes. Citizens Blues F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Messias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Délio Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Fontes having to interfere. If Ronaldo Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After 69 minutes, Leopoldo Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Citizens Blues F.C and the CORINTHIANS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Citizens Blues F.C got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Domingues. After 72 minutes of play, CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Messias made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dedé Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! CORINTHIANS's Conrado Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldo Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Dedé Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Leopoldo Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Délio Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. CORINTHIANS's supporters rose to their feet, but Délio Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedé Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Délio Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute of the match, Délio Loyola got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dedé Fontes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Délio Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Dedé Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CORINTHIANS played a much better game than Citizens Blues F.C and deserved their victory. The Citizens Blues F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
