But to his dismay, Ian Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Marcus Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Cruz in the 27th minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Mondahy SS's Ian Cruz made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcus Rezende was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mauro Carioca was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luiz Eduardo Braga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 35 minute of play. In the 44th minute Celso Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Oiler FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mondahy SS were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ian Cruz to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Oiler FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Ian Cruz struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Oiler FC's Yan Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mondahy SS were furious when Carlos Araújo was red carded, 66 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 66 minutes into the game, one of Mondahy SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 73rdth minute of the game Luiz Eduardo Braga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mondahy SS's Mauro Carioca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Mondahy SS getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Zé Carlos Quadros hit a great ball. Mauro Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Valadares in the 76th minute of play forced Mondahy SS's goalkeeper Mauro Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
