In the 5th match minute, Sampa Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Paulo Borges to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruninho Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sampa Team getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. João Adolfo Mandrak hit a great ball. Carlos Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Carlos Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Proença in the 11th minute of the match. Walmir Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Carvalho having to interfere. Carlos Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walmir Proença's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute Luan Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sampa Team's Carlos Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Proença in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute Walmir Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celso Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Mota having to interfere. When Corinthians's Walmir Proença in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Mangueira to make the kick off. Carlos Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Walmir Proença sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sampa Team getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Walmir Botelho hit a great ball. Luan Quintal struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Carlos Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. Edgard Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Luan Quintal scored 0-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute, Walmir Proença got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Mangueira in the 71st minute of play. César Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Sampa Team's goalkeeper Carlos Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Mangueira. Carlos Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Proença in the 75th minute. Bruninho Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Carvalho having to interfere. Walmir Proença who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Carlos Carvalho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Corinthians's Luan Quintal in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sampa Team's goalie prevented a goal. After 93 played minutes Sampa Team got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Leme. Bruninho Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Carvalho having to interfere. Corinthians's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
