Walmir Linhares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Reginaldo Salgado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 24th minute, Kauan Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pessoa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Mota in the 28th minute of play forced Pessoa's goalkeeper Caetano Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caetano Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th match minute, Pessoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Lira to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute of the match Hélder Gonçalves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Caetano Donato showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Caetano Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulysses Mota in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Pessoa getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Narciso Lira hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Pessoa's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Vides came free, but Caetano Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Narciso Lira during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Pessoa got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Lira. In the 41st minute, Ulysses Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cochinho's Reginaldo Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Cochinho from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Pessoa's Walmir Linhares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reginaldo Salgado. That made the score 3-1 after 46 minutes of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beto Lira was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Cochinho's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Lira came free, but Reginaldo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cochinho's zone, Walmir Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reginaldo Salgado came out of the goal and Walmir Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Percival Vides recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caetano Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Reginaldo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Murilo Linares came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Cochinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Linares couldn't finish the play. When Kauan Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pessoa's protests and gave Kauan Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. 79 minutes into the game, one of Pessoa:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Ulysses Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reginaldo Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beto Lira went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Walmir Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Reginaldo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
