Claudinho de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caetano Donato having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Pessoa's goalkeeper Caetano Donato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Teles. If Beto Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Teles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Caetano Donato made a huge save. Caetano Donato came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Trovão FC's Claudinho de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Claudinho de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a little luck, Pessoa's Caetano Donato got control of the ball when Emanuel Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caetano Donato made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Teles in the 43rd minute. Emanuel Teles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Caetano Donato made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinho de Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caetano Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiago Gabriel Cerezo's late challenge caught a Trovão FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Gabriel Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. Tiago Gabriel Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Osvaldo Varela in the 61st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Caetano Donato's left hand side. In the 62nd minute Claudinho de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Trovão FC's goalkeeper Eurico Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Linhares. A collision led to Trovão FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Osvaldo Varela hit a great ball. If Walmir Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Trovão FC's zone, Walmir Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eurico Paes came out of the goal and Walmir Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pessoa's Caetano Donato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho de Azevedo in the 82nd minute of play. Caetano Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Emanuel Teles struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Caetano Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trovão FC. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Trovão FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pessoa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
