The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Conrado Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Abel de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malandro F C's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ramón Sabóia 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind XR Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Humberto Gaúcho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Humberto Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Eliézer Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Murilo do Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Gaúcho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo do Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. Jânio da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Gaúcho having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Murilo do Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Malandro F C's Conrado Esteves suffered a concussion in the 37th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Batista during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Malandro F C's Enio Cruz was substituted for Conrado Esteves. Murilo do Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Gaúcho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo do Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. Jânio da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the match, XR Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio da Costa came free, but Humberto Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The crowd rose to their feet as Malandro F C's Murilo do Nascimento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Humberto Gaúcho. That made the score 2-1 after 52 minutes of play. Murilo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Gaúcho having to interfere. A collision led to XR Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gilvan Pontes hit a great ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Jânio da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malandro F C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio da Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jânio da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Gaúcho having to interfere. When Jonathan Batista was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, XR Futebol Clube's Jonathan Batista got a free kick in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Murilo do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Humberto Gaúcho. XR Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Murilo do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jânio da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes Malandro F C got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Viana. Jânio da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Humberto Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 played minutes XR Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Pontes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio da Costa in the 94th minute of play forced XR Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Humberto Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jânio da Costa in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Gaúcho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Malandro F C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
