The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Renan Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. A collision led to Toverstar FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Renan Figueiredo hit a great ball. In the 6th minute, Severino Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Toverstar FC! 11 minutes into the match, Norberto dos Santos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Naldo de Mendonça, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Pires in the 17th minute of play forced Mansidao EC's goalkeeper Pedro Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Toledo in the 19th minute of play. When Severino Pires came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Toverstar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Pires couldn't finish the play. Naldo de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute of the match, Norberto dos Santos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Naldo de Mendonça saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedro Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Pedro Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Afonso Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severino Pires to make the kick off. If Severino Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Pires could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Pedro Carvalho made a huge save. Toverstar FC's Severino Pires was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 63rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Toverstar FC's Robinho Simão got a free kick in the 66th minute. Pedrinho Peres made in the 68th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Toverstar FC's Renan Figueiredo. With an all-out effort, Toverstar FC's Pedro Carvalho threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Renan Figueiredo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pedro Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Severino Pires sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Mansidao EC's Pedro Carvalho got control of the ball when Renan Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute, Norberto dos Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naldo de Mendonça was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Mansidao EC's Pedro Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Mansidao EC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Mansidao EC's Pedro Carvalho got control of the ball when Robinho Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Toverstar FC's Severino Pires in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mansidao EC's goalie prevented a goal. Pedro Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robinho Simão in the 93rd minute. After 96 played minutes Toverstar FC got a freekick which was hit by Rony Favoretto. Norberto dos Santos struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Naldo de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mansidao EC. Many of Toverstar FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Toverstar FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Mansidao EC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
