The supporters of L.Kings F.C. booed when Abandonando o jogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murillo Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Denílson do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored L.Kings F.C.'s protests and gave Denílson do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes L.Kings F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Denílson do Nascimento. The long shot by João Dionísio in the 46th minute really tested Murillo Neto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The Abandonando o jogo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. L.Kings F.C. were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Gustavo Alves to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, L.Kings F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Gustavo Alves came free, but Murillo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as L.Kings F.C.'s Fernando Chaves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos de Queirós. That made the score 0-2 after 72 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Abandonando o jogo's Edgar de Godoi got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th match minute, L.Kings F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Seco to maneuver through the defense. Abandonando o jogo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by João Dionísio in the 92nd minute. Murillo Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Alves in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Nestor Vidal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abandonando o jogo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. L.Kings F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
