Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rafinha Peres started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, SuperCampeõesRJ's goalkeeper Germano Sarmento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sydney Rossi. 7 minutes into the match, SuperCampeõesRJ's Gilson Paraíba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Afonsinho Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Afonsinho Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Donato in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Barranceira SC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Cipriano Prata hit a great ball. The supporters of Barranceira SC booed when SuperCampeõesRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frédson Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Germano Sarmento made a huge save. When Cláudio Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barranceira SC's protests and gave Cláudio Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Barranceira SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cláudio Rossi hit a great ball. Frédson Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Germano Sarmento made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, SuperCampeõesRJ's Gilson Paraíba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Afonsinho Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Gilson Paraíba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Cláudio Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Germano Sarmento managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Barranceira SC's Frédson Andrade fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Frédson Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barranceira SC's Afonsinho Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Donato in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilson Paraíba made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as SuperCampeõesRJ's Gilson Paraíba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Afonsinho Senna. That made the score 0-1 after 52 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafinha Peres in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Germano Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilson Paraíba might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonsinho Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilson Paraíba ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the SuperCampeõesRJ defense, Frédson Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Germano Sarmento. The SuperCampeõesRJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Germano Sarmento should have stopped the shot. In the 70th minute, Sydney Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Germano Sarmento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Romeu Azevedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Germano Sarmento. SuperCampeõesRJ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78thth minute of the game Rafinha Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SuperCampeõesRJ's Germano Sarmento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Senna having to interfere. When Eliseu de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SuperCampeõesRJ's protests and gave Eliseu de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SuperCampeõesRJ's Eliseu de Souza got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute Rafinha Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germano Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Peres in the 88th minute of play. Gilson Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the SuperCampeõesRJ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barranceira SC.
