The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game William de Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ivape's Enio Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Cesinha Toscano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enio Toledo. Ivape's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cesinha Toscano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rui Guimarães took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enio Toledo. Ivape's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Itapeacu fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Itapeacu's William de Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Enio Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of William de Brito's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Enio Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Toscano in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Cesinha Toscano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapeacu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 29 minutes into the match, Ivape's goal looked a bit too open when William de Brito came free, but Enio Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Rony Donato reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marco Paiva. The goal made the score 1-3. In the 42nd minute Cesinha Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Ivape was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rony Donato to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 44 minutes, Cesinha Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapeacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesinha Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivape's Enio Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William de Brito in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, William de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapeacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but William de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafim Barral's late challenge caught a Itapeacu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Barral helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ivape's Serafim Barral got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Itapeacu's Cesinha Toscano got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Ivape's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Toscano came free, but Enio Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Enio Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesinha Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Moreno during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
