Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frank Simão started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute of the match Nilmar Velloso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juarês Araújo skillfully saved the ball. In the 5th minute, Frank Simão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Poxoreu's Fellipe Pitta got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute, Carlos Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guaravera's Genílson Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Genílson Tepedino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Juarês Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Juarês Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genílson Tepedino in the 18th minute of the match. Jefferson Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guaravera's João Carlos Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson Cerezo in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Poxoreu getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jailson Recife hit a great ball. João Carlos Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 39 minutes, Ediberto Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poxoreu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ediberto Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Moreira hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jefferson Cerezo was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Poxoreu's Jailson Recife got a free kick in the 51st minute. If Frank Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Genílson Tepedino got free with Juarês Araújo in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jailson Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jailson Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Jailson Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaravera's Frank Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Genílson Tepedino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sydney Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. João Carlos Furlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ediberto Viana's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Genílson Tepedino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juarês Araújo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guaravera's zone, Ediberto Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Furlan came out of the goal and Ediberto Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Luís Galvão fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaravera's protests and gave Luís Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Guaravera's Cícero Maia got a free kick in the 88th minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Jefferson Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poxoreu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Cerezo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Poxoreu booed when Guaravera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ediberto Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. João Carlos Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Guaravera supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guaravera would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
