Simão Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Sílvio Luiz França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SQUADRA 00's Perivaldo Rosa got a free kick in the 13th minute. Sílvio Luiz França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Motta charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diamantino Motta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of União Sulista FC booed when SQUADRA 00 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. União Sulista FC's Ciro Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrique Romero took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sílvio Luiz França. Sílvio Luiz França dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 33 minutes into the match, SQUADRA 00's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Romero came free, but Sílvio Luiz França reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SQUADRA 00's zone, Enrique Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Luiz França came out of the goal and Enrique Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas Machado in the 44th minute of play forced União Sulista FC's goalkeeper João Vítor Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Enrique Romero came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the União Sulista FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Romero couldn't finish the play. The SQUADRA 00 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. União Sulista FC were winning 1-2.

When the match was over União Sulista FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SQUADRA 00 throughout the match.
