The Timbu fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Timbu's Walmyr Maciel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Timbu booed when Vila Palmeiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquinhos Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lauro Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Timbu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauro Novaes couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Marquinhos Saraiva made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Trancoso. Vila Palmeiras FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 56th match minute, Vila Palmeiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Novaes did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Afonso Trancoso 57 minutes into the match. Afonso Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Novaes in the 74th minute of the match. Marquinhos Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro Novaes in the 78th minute of play. A hard shot 82 in the game by Marquinhos Saraiva from a close distance when the talented Afonso Trancoso managed to make a qualified save. Vila Palmeiras FC's players were relieved. William Bittencourt hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. With splendid footwork Lauro Novaes arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-6 by the left pole in the game's 87th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Júnior Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila Palmeiras FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Timbu the free kick. In the 91st minute, Júnior Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauro Novaes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonso Trancoso having to make a save. Virgílio Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Vila Palmeiras FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Timbu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
