Eduardo Britto might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júnior Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Britto ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Eger in the 10th minute of play forced Carnaubas SC's goalkeeper Júnior Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Sanches in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredinho Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute of the match Thomás Ceresso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredinho Mattos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 20th match minute, Carnaubas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Dante to maneuver through the defense. Carajari EC's Doriva Paes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Carnaubas SC. The audience was convinced that Tostão Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júnior Santana was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Carajari EC's zone, Francisco Sanches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredinho Mattos came out of the goal and Francisco Sanches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Carajari EC's Alfredinho Mattos got control of the ball when Ernesto Matos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tostão Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júnior Santana having to interfere. A collision led to Carnaubas SC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cláudio Quintal hit a great ball. In the 37th minute, Eduardo Britto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júnior Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 41 minutes into the match, Carajari EC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Sanches came free, but Alfredinho Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 minutes, Jeferson Mangueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carnaubas SC and the Carajari EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Carnaubas SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jeferson Mangueira hit a great ball. Eduardo Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carnaubas SC! The Carnaubas SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carajari EC were winning 0-1.

Eduardo Brittos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Júnior Santana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 57th minute, Tostão Eger reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Júnior Santana. The goal made the score 0-2. 60 minutes into the match, Carnaubas SC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Quirino came free, but Júnior Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Britto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Júnior Santana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Carnaubas SC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Juninho Dante hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carnaubas SC's zone, Tostão Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júnior Santana came out of the goal and Tostão Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júnior Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Tostão Eger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Júnior Santana. That made the score 0-3 in the 89 minute of play. Tostão Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tostão Eger in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júnior Santana saved Carnaubas SC from getting behind.
