After a defensive mix-up in Black Star Wings's zone, Amauri Zanette stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beto Damião came out of the goal and Amauri Zanette tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the game, Itoupava's Zé Augusto Pirani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beto Damião made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some careless play in the Black Star Wings defense, Amauri Zanette kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beto Damião. The Black Star Wings fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beto Damião should have stopped the shot. Zé Augusto Pirani took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Damião. Beto Damião dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 31st minute, Igor Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Romeu Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé de Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amílton Pitta having to make a save. The supporters of Black Star Wings booed when Itoupava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Black Star Wings's Marcos Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeu Massa was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Romeu Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tadeu Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeu Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Itoupava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Marcos Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Itoupava's zone, Diogo Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Pitta came out of the goal and Diogo Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the game, Romeu Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Amílton Pitta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 69 minutes into the match, Beto Trigo notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Itoupava's Amílton Pitta. Amílton Pitta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Beto Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Black Star Wings's Beto Damião got control of the ball when Zé Augusto Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amauri Zanette might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beto Damião. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amauri Zanette ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute of the match Bernardo Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beto Damião skillfully saved the ball. Amílton Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé de Brito in the 84th minute of play. Tadeu Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th minute of the match Marcos Vidal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Pitta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 86th match minute, Itoupava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu Ferraz to maneuver through the defense.
