But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chico de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester city's zone, Lino Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juarês Hames came out of the goal and Lino Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juarês Hames made an important save on a dangerous shot by Róbson Vianna in the 9th minute. In the 13th match minute, Manchester city was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Guerreiros SC's Anderson Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Manchester city's Sebastião Machado got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Seco in the 17th minute of play forced Guerreiros SC's goalkeeper Aníbal Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessandro Seco scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aníbal Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Manchester city's Arthur Maranhense got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 30 minutes into the match, Guerreiros SC's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Seco came free, but Aníbal Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juarês Hames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 31 played minutes Manchester city got a freekick which was hit by Chico de Medeiros. 32 minutes into the match, Manchester city's goalkeeper Juarês Hames had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Róbson Vianna. Aníbal Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Santana in the 35th minute of the match. Ismael Santana took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aníbal Carvalho. Aníbal Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Manchester city's Arthur Maranhense got a free kick in the 38th minute. Anderson Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juarês Hames was a little too slow when Lino Marques got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 1-2. Manchester city's Ismael Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Alessandro Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Guerreiros SC defense, Dadá Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aníbal Carvalho. The Guerreiros SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aníbal Carvalho should have stopped the shot. If Alessandro Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Manchester city's Chico de Medeiros got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Róbson Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Guerreiros SC's Aníbal Carvalho got control of the ball when Alessandro Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Dadá Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester city's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dadá Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aníbal Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessandro Seco's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. After 91 played minutes Guerreiros SC got a freekick which was hit by Wilian Pontes. After having played for 93 minutes, Alessandro Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester city's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesinha Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Manchester city's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
