Antônio Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Xavier in the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Malacacheta's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Amaral came free, but Antônio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sodre EC's Nildo Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percy Pontes in the 24th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Malacacheta got a freekick which was hit by Tony Guedes. Antônio Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho de Amaral in the 29th minute of play. Tony Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nildo Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Malacacheta got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Paiva. 34 minutes into the match, Malacacheta's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Amaral came free, but Antônio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Celso Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Malacacheta's Nildo Reis threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Percy Pontes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percy Pontes couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute, Sodre EC's Celso Xavier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Antônio Reis. Antônio Reis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. 59 minutes into the match, Malacacheta's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Amaral came free, but Antônio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noel Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Sodre EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Sodre EC's Oséias Reis shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 61st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Antônio Reis but with some difficulty. Antônio Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrinho de Amaral's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percy Pontes in the 67th minute of play forced Sodre EC's goalkeeper Nildo Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
