A wasted opportunity for Flecha AD. 9 minutes into the match, Lucas Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Lara. Ipuarana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Ipuarana's Sidney Paes got a free kick in the 11th minute. Diguinho Varela scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Lara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Paulo Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Serginho Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Almir do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diguinho Varela in the 35th minute of play. Gugu Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zé Paulo Mandrak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Gilberto Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ipuarana's goalkeeper José Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Almir do Vale was the one to do the kick off. José Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diguinho Varela in the 54th minute. Zé Paulo Mandrak came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Ipuarana's Almir do Vale. But to his dismay, Almir do Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. If Almir do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Gugu Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipuarana's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paulo Mandrak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, Flecha AD's Lucas Cabral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Lara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Ipuarana's José Lara got control of the ball when Diguinho Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Lucas Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flecha AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Almir do Vale took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Paulo Mandrak. Zé Paulo Mandrak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After having played for 75 minutes, Gugu Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipuarana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77thth minute of the game Almir do Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flecha AD's Zé Paulo Mandrak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diguinho Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Lara having to interfere. Filipe Abraão's late challenge caught a Flecha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Abraão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Lucas Cabral fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a little luck, Ipuarana's José Lara got control of the ball when Diguinho Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diguinho Varela got free with José Lara in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute, Gilberto Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th match minute, Ipuarana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Gugu Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Zé Paulo Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diguinho Varela got free with José Lara in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
