An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Leal in the 9th minute of play forced Maracassume's goalkeeper Sílvio Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 minutes, Ernani Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maracassume and the Camarada EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Maracassume got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Valle. Sílvio Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Gerber in the 14th minute of play. If Igor Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sílvio Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Gerber in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Eduardo Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Camarada EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute Igor Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Gerber in the 35th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Olavo Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Igor Leal was the one to do the kick off. If Eduardo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Camarada EC's zone, Frederico Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Carvalho came out of the goal and Frederico Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dedé Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Frederico Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Luiz Cearense hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes, Maracassume's Benjamim Ferraz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dedé Carvalho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maracassume reached it. 76 minutes into the match, Afonsinho Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedé Carvalho. Camarada EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Afonsinho Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracassume's goalkeeper Sílvio Corrêa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 81 minutes Maracassume's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Frank de Mendonça who took care of the corner kick. Benjamim Ferraz thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Sílvio Corrêa, a very annoying self made goal in the 81st minute which led to 1-1. Camarada EC's Dedé Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Viana in the 85th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Camarada EC got a freekick which was hit by André Luiz Cearense. When Afonsinho Viana came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Maracassume fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Viana couldn't finish the play.
