Sílvio Corrêa came out of the goal and Léo de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Lino Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Valente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Carneiro couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Valente FC booed when Maracassume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valente FC's Lino Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonsinho Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Prata having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Renan Pena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maracassume's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Lino Carneiro scored to the left of an out of position Sílvio Corrêa, making the score, 1-0. 32 minutes into the match, Valente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Tasso came free, but Jorginho Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juninho Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Afonsinho Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maracassume's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonsinho Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Maracassume's Maurinho Tasso in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Maracassume getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Benjamim Ferraz hit a great ball. When Léo de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Valente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Léo de Souza couldn't finish the play. Léo de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Sílvio Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maracassume's Sílvio Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Carneiro in the 70th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Lino Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute Lino Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game Lino Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracassume's Sílvio Corrêa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Valente FC's Lino Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sílvio Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
