Valério Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Corrêa having to interfere. Sílvio Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valério Cordeiro in the 18th minute of the match. 0-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Hélder Cosme elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Hélder Cosme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Corrêa was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 29th minute, Afonsinho Viana fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Adalberto Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélder Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sílvio Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Valério Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valério Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Victor de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maracassume's Benjamim Ferraz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Claros AD.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurinho Tasso to make the kick off. Adalberto Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonsinho Viana in the 51st minute of play. If Afonsinho Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute Afonsinho Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claros AD's Hélder Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Maracassume getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Frederico Macedo hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Hélder Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Claros AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélder Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maracassume's Sílvio Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Maracassume from getting a goal against them. If Maurinho Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Afonsinho Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Afonsinho Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maracassume's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonsinho Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Corrêa having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Claros AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
