Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Miguel Sarmento started the match with the kick off. After 4th play minutes Ulisses das Neves shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Luciano Lima and just under the crossbar into goal. Júlio Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Lima having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Humberto Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Ulisses das Neves took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Luciano Lima to make any attempt to save it. If Júlio Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 27 minutes, Júlio Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rubro Negros F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulisses das Nevess short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Luciano Lima to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luciano Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ulisses das Neves in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, América-RJ's Cido Vergílio got a free kick in the 41st minute. Celsinho Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rubro Negros F.C's Júlio Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celsinho Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Lima having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulisses das Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses das Neves in the 54th minute of play forced América-RJ's goalkeeper Luciano Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Celsinho Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rubro Negros F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celsinho Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rubro Negros F.C's Júlio Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Válbson Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Júlio Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcelo Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Vergílio in the 73rd minute of the match. When Ulisses das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Rubro Negros F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulisses das Neves couldn't finish the play. América-RJ's Luciano Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Amorim in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Alberto Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Júlio Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Lima having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Ulisses das Neves in the 93rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Amorim in the 95th minute of play forced América-RJ's goalkeeper Luciano Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the match, América-RJ's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Amorim came free, but Luciano Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rubro Negros F.C had played much better football throughout.
