Bernardo Lara's late challenge caught a Joacaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toninho Moura in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serginho Cruz saved Fenix FC from getting behind. Serginho Cruz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erasmo Trevisan's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Moura in the 11th minute of play forced Fenix FC's goalkeeper Serginho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th match minute, Fenix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Erasmo Trevisan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Toninho Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joacaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serginho Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Fenix FC defense, Toninho Moura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serginho Cruz. The Fenix FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serginho Cruz should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute Francisco Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Toninho Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joacaba's Erasmo Trevisan in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fenix FC's goalie prevented a goal. Toninho Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Erasmo Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Raphael Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Toninho Moura put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Serginho Cruz. After the first half Joacaba were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Francisco Nóbrega made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Joacaba's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Bezerra came free, but Jeremias Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serginho Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toninho Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Cruz having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Bernardo de Lara fired a really elegant long shot, but Serginho Cruz threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Serginho Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Fenix FC booed when Joacaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fenix FC's Ediberto Leal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Joacaba. Serginho Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Moura in the 74th minute of play. Fenix FC's Serginho Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Fenix FC from getting a goal against them. When Francisco Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenix FC's protests and gave Francisco Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Toninho Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Erasmo Trevisan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Serginho Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Moura in the 85th minute of the match. If Cristiano Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Trevisan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Serginho Cruz firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 91st minute, Erasmo Trevisan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Serginho Cruz. The goal made the score 0-4. Erasmo Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
