Cesinha Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Fantini in the 5th minute of play. Jailson Barral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Neto in the 8th minute. When Telmo Machado fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meriruma's protests and gave Telmo Machado a yellow card for diving instead. Telmo Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Meriruma's Erivaldo Terra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesinha Brasil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 21 minutes, Erivaldo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meriruma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erivaldo Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesinha Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Cesinha Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Terra in the 24th minute of the match. Telmo Machado hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Arnaldo Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Fantini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. During the 56th minute of the match Telmo Machado completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Telmo Machado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 56th match minute, Meriruma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Machado to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 60 minutes, Erivaldo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The throw-in from Beto Prado in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Unidos do Chora's Serginho Vieira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Vieira in the 75th minute of play forced Meriruma's goalkeeper Jailson Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Meriruma's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Vieira came free, but Jailson Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Erivaldo Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beto Prado during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Meriruma defense, Tiago Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jailson Barral. The Meriruma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jailson Barral should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Erivaldo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meriruma's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesinha Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erivaldo Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Brasil having to interfere. When Unidos do Chora's Gláuber Mendes in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Meriruma's goalie prevented a goal. 97 minutes into the match, Unidos do Chora's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Fantini came free, but Cesinha Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
