In the 3rd minute, Kauã Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Enio Gomes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 13th match minute, Matapagipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro de Lara to maneuver through the defense. Descarreto AD's José Valladares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maurinho Cardozo but with some difficulty. Enio Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 21 minutes, Kauã Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matapagipe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Descarreto AD's Elói Saldanha got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maurinho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo Paiva in the 27th minute of the match. Elói Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enio Gomes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Enio Gomes scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Evaristo Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Luís Eduardo Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Descarreto AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Eduardo Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurinho Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 51stth minute of the game Kauã Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Descarreto AD's Evaristo Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Kauã Veiga put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Evaristo Magalhães. When Luís Eduardo Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Descarreto AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Paiva couldn't finish the play. Álvaro de Lara hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes José Valladares shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Matapagipe's Maurinho Cardozo to catch but José Valladares was lucky. It became 1-3 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Elói Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Cardozo having to interfere. Matapagipe's Maurinho Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Paiva in the 74th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Matapagipe's zone, Luís Eduardo Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho Cardozo came out of the goal and Luís Eduardo Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Luís Eduardo Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matapagipe's Maurinho Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Eduardo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Elói Saldanha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurinho Cardozo was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. If Luís Eduardo Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Maurinho Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle went the supporters of Matapagipe were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Descarreto AD side.
